The Flash Wars

April 9, 2010

According to Tech Crunch “Apple gives a big F-U to Adobe,” in regards to all Flash related issues.

Apple may have just made the flagship feature of Adobe Flash CS5, which allows developers to port Flash applications to the iPhone, totally useless.

And Adobes response has been:

“We are aware of the new SDK language and are looking into it. We continue to develop our Packager for iPhone OS technology, which we plan to debut in Flash CS5.”

Basically, keep moving forward.

This must be tough considering how much money, time, and effort Adobe had to go through to get its flagship product this far.

Nonetheless, this could just be an escalation in the cold war between Adobe and Apple, and the greater war between Google and Apple; being that Google has worked closely with Adobe on integrating Flash more closely to its Chrome browser.

Only time will tell, but this bickering really hurts all of us.
